COLUMBIA — A ribbon cutting and ground breaking ceremony was held Tuesday to celebrate the construction of a new special needs affordable housing development.
The buildings will be located on sites in central and southwest Columbia. It will provide 28 energy-efficient apartments, 24 of which will be one-bedroom units.
Potential tenants include adults with a disability who can live on their own with or without support, small families that include a child with a disability or other people with special needs as defined by the Missouri Housing Development Commission.
The ceremony was held on 306 St. Joseph Street at 4:00 p.m.
The project is expected to be completed by fall 2017.
